5 Workshop Upgrades That Make a BIG Difference

5 Workshop Upgrades That Make a BIG Difference

If you work in a small shop, you know the struggle. You set something down for five seconds and suddenly it’s gone. You sweep the floor and gain three square feet of space like it’s a magic trick.

The truth is simple. Tiny shops can do big things with the right upgrades.

Here are 5 easy wins that help your shop feel bigger, work better, and stay cleaner.

1. Better Lighting

Better lighting makes your cuts more accurate, your finishing less stressful, and your shop a whole lot safer. I have used these Barrina lights for years and they have worked well.

2. A Dust Collection Plan

Keeping dust under control makes your shop feel less like a snow globe, keeps your lungs safe, and helps every tool run better. Shop vacs are great and if you're able to swing it, a dust collector is even better.

3. A Folding Work Station

My Folding Work Station stays completely out of the way until I need it, then pops open into a full-sized workspace. It’s perfect for assembly, sanding, storing tools, or holding that one project you keep saying you’ll finish. Plans available HERE.

4. A Mobile Workbench

A mobile workbench gives you flexibility, better workflow, and the power to rearrange your shop whenever inspiration strikes. CLICK HERE for my Simple Mobile Workbench Plans.

5. Vertical Storage Everywhere

Walls are free space, so use every inch of them. Add cleats, shelves, hooks, racks, and anything that gets gear off the floor. Check out plans to my Ultimate Clamp Rack.
